What is the VRChat Home feature?

VRChat Home is the default personal “Home” world provided by VRChat where you first spawn and can return at any time. It functions as a private starting space and tutorial hub: you can adjust comfort and locomotion settings, preview and equip avatars at a mirror, change background music, and use the Quick Menu’s Go Home tile to return. You can also pick any other world as your Home (via the Worlds tab’s Make Home button) or reset the default Home if needed. Designed both for newcomers and regulars, the Home includes interactive panels that explain core VRChat features, curated portal rows to highlighted worlds, and quick-access avatar selections. Home instance type and region are configurable (Invite, Friends, Public, etc.), and VRChat occasionally refreshes or decorates the Home for events and featured content. If you want to customize where you start, search a world in the Worlds tab and select Make Home; adjust instance/region under Comfort & Safety.
