More info
To solve the Waterfall piano puzzle in Undertale, you first reveal Memory by triggering the umbrella sequence. In the Wishing Room, check the telescope, then give the umbrella to the rain-soaked statue; Memory will play. Return to the piano and input the melody using Z and the arrow keys in this order: Neutral, Up, Right, Neutral, Down, Neutral, Down, Right. The game explicitly notes the eight-note sequence, but a seven-note variant works as well—the sixth note can be omitted or replaced with Left, and version 1.001 reflects this seven-note solution. For the full walkthrough, see the Waterfall Puzzles guide. Waterfall Puzzles guide.
This puzzle lives in the Waterfall area, north of the three-way intersection near Shyren. The piano uses five different notes and is operated with the Z key plus directional inputs. After Memory begins playing, the wall of notes that appears above the statue confirms the correct pattern you must reproduce on the piano. On the Genocide Route, the wall is already open, but the core mechanic—reproducing Memory’s melody—remains the same. More details and alternate notes can be found in the Undertale wiki entry for Waterfall puzzles. Waterfall Puzzles guide.
