Q.Should I choose Grand Theft Auto V Legacy or the Enhanced edition?

If you care most about upgraded graphics (ray tracing, DLSS/FSR), faster load times, new GTA Online features and future updates, pick Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced — provided your PC meets the newer system requirements. The Enhanced build is the “next‑gen” upgrade Rockstar shipped for PC in March 2025 and includes DirectStorage support, improved audio and a one‑time migration path for Story and Online progress from Legacy. See Rockstar’s support notes for version details and migration guidance. Rockstar Support article.
If your rig is older, you use lots of single‑player mods, or your friends are still on the older version, stick with GTA V Legacy — it’s lighter, keeps the classic mod pipeline intact, and runs better on low/mid systems. Important tradeoffs to weigh:
- Enhanced: ray tracing, DLSS/FSR, DirectStorage, GTA+ support, newer online content; larger install and stricter requirements. (PC Gamer coverage)
- Legacy: lower requirements, broader mod compatibility, separate online servers (no cross‑play between versions). (Steam/Enhanced listing)
Pick Enhanced for visuals and futureproofing; choose Legacy for performance, mods, or friend compatibility.
